About Gina

Gina is originally from Bangor, Pennsylvania, the heart of the Slate Belt, a blue collar region best known for its heritage in quarrying slate & shale. Her mother was a NICU nurse, working 12 hour overnight shifts, and her father was a teacher and principal for the Bangor school district. Gina moved to Colorado Springs in 2008 for an internship with the United States Olympic Committee and quickly fell in love with the mountains, trails, and the Colorado way of life. Gina has lived in Carbondale, Glenwood, Boulder, and she permanently landed in Buena Vista with her husband Justin and two Airedale Terriers in 2019.

Town of Buena Vista Trustee

MAYOR PRO-TEM

Working for the community to provide a better quality of life is central to Gina’s character and her role as Mayor Pro Tem for the Town of Buena Vista. Gina has voted yes to policies securing deed restricted affordable housing units, including 50 units and a childcare facility for the Carbonate Street Project and 60 units at the future Crossings Project. She’s approved ordinances and resolutions managing BV’s water supply based on community needs, and she votes yes to funding projects like the Boys & Girls Club that will enrich community opportunity and wellness.

Chaffee County Search & Rescue

VICE PRESIDENT

Gina has been a volunteer member of CCSAR-North for five years, serving as Training Director for three. With proficient knowledge of Chaffee’s backcountry and her ability to move with haste, Gina wanted to serve as a mountain first-responder. Helping those who are lost or injured, day or night, is something Gina feels fortunate to do. As a result of this work, Gina was selected as a finalist for Chaffee County Community Foundation’s Volunteer of the Year in 2023.
